Public meeting slated for June 27 on Gorge Dam project

A public meeting will take place on June 27 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. to update interested stakeholders and residents about the status of the Gorge Dam Removal Project. The meeting will take place at the Natatorium, 2345 Fourth St.

The title of the program is, "Gorge Dam, What's Next, A Public Meeting" and will feature speakers who will discuss the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, its history, its benefits and its role in the Gorge Dam Removal. In addition, a Cultural Resource Specialist from Summit Metro Parks will present stories concerning the history of the Gorge.

Flicks on theFalls is downtown

Flicks on the Falls will return to the Downtown Amphitheater. The city will again partner with Western Reserve Hospital to offer free movies for families.

Here's the schedule: June 22: "The Secret Life of Pets;" June 29: "The Wild Life;" and July 13: "Moana." There will be pre-shows by the Akron Zoo, and cartoons begin just after dusk with the feature show beginning at dark. For more information, visit http://www.cityofcf.com/activity/flicks-falls.
